Getting Springtime Ready with ColourPop

Hello again!

I am back to continue my trend of exploring affordable brands. ColourPop was yet another affordable brand that I’ve been missing out on. I have to admit that I’ve fallen in love with this brand and the products I tried.

It all started with a mini haul on ColourPop’s website. With the release of the ColourPop X Ellarie collab lip products, I really wanted to try these colors. The line had three liquid mattes, a satin red liquid lip, two glosses, a lippie stick and pencil. I love a matte liquid lipstick so now was my chance to try out the brand.

Mini haul items:

Ultra Matte Lip in: Hennyways and Sessy

Lux Lipsticks in : Unraveled, On Repeat and Reverie

Dream St. Kathleen Lights X ColourPop shadow palette.

Ultra Matte Lip

This is by far the greatest lip product I’ve ever discovered! It is the longest lasting lipstick I’ve ever worn. It feels comfortable to wear and it literally lasts all day, even through meals and drinks. My husband definitely can appreciate this one because there is little to no transfer and it’s only $6.50!

I loved the formula so much that I went to the nearest Ulta and brought one more in the color Love Bug. Then the next week ColourPop decided to have a 30% off sale on liquid lipsticks. I was so obsessed with the three matte colors I had that I brought a few more and decided to give the Ultra Satin Lip a try too ☺️.

Lux Lipsticks

After trying the mattes for a few days, I was optimistic about the lipsticks. After one application I was shooketh. The pigment, the coverage and the finish were amazing! I also found the formula to be pretty durable for a satin. The lipsticks felt almost like lip stains. The texture was creamy, but the way it dried down and the color stayed on my lips was slightly frightening.

By day three of wearing them, I did feel like I may have been having an allergic reaction to them. There was a slight tingling sensation and my top lip felt right. But it honestly wasn’t severe enough for me to stop.

Dream St. Shadow Palette

By the next week, I got to the shadow palette. It was a tough decision on which to buy, but the color combination in this palette was undeniable. When I swatched theses colors…FLOORED. Granted, the shadow pans were much smaller than I imagined, but who cares when these colors are so pigmented.

I’m not sure it’s even legal for these affordable products to be this great. I honestly think the quality of the ColourPop lipsticks and shadows are better than some of the high end brands I own. I would purchase every Ultra Matte Lip, Lux Lipstick and eyeshadow from ColourPop in a heartbeat and have zero regrets.

I think I can create some amazing looks this spring with all of the items I purchased from ColourPop (not to mention the ones I ordered and on the way!). I love everything about the brand and it’s already inspired some great spring looks now that we’re finally getting spring weather in Washington, DC.

Check out some of my looks! More to come!

Sincerely,

Chaneé L.
